The “Museo del Castagno” Chestnut Museum, has been set up by volunteers to witness the importance that the chestnut tree has been in the area of the Valley of Roggio. The chestnut cultivation is in fact documented in this area from the Middle Ages: in 1985 was found a scroll of the ‘828 that bears witness to the chestnut cultivation for food in Colognora.
