Spring from head to toe

Image removed. It is called “Spring from head to toe – Lucca crafts reborn” the event scheduled for March 21 at the premises of the Atelier Ricci in Via Burlamacchi No. 32, organized as well as by Altelier, Confartigianato in collaboration with the Municipality of Lucca. Starting at 17.00 in the prestigious salons of the famous tailoring will be held an event dedicated to fashion that will take part different local artisans in the fashion industry and the school “M.Civitali”.

The first day of spring was not a random choice. In this way it is intended to underline the will of a “rebirth” of the sector, focusing on it the reflectors of the city. Starting at 17.00 visitors – who can enter for free – will face artisans who will produce clothing items and accessories in addition to seeing many of their already packaged products on display. The public will be able to see how a product is born and how it is defined thanks to the dexterity and craftsmanship of the artisans present in the hall. Even the name of the initiative is not causal: the title “From head to feet” indicates that the handmade products “cover” completely, starting from hats to shoes through knitwear, earrings and bags and, at the end of the day, a model will wear all the products made.

“Reflecting on what and how we buy, where we spend our money, stimulating greater attention to quality, sustainability and provenance of products has become an imperative of our time – comments the Councilor for Economic Development Valentina Mercanti – The effort that the public, and therefore a municipality, must do is to disseminate and promote the work that leads to the birth of a product, so as to enhance the value and disseminate the specificity of the Italian product, in this case Lucca, thus contributing to the promotion of the made in Italy. The success of craft products – concludes the commissioner – depends on listening to the customer, his care, the ability to customize and the quality of the work and the materials used, all ingredients that mix together make a unique product and quality ” .

“It is with great satisfaction that we support the initiative of Patrizia Ricci who intends to enhance the ‘crafts crafts’ and, in particular, what his atelier has been producing for years with professionalism and strictly by hand, or custom-made clothes – comments the director Confartigianato Roberto Favilla – At the same time we worked to ensure that everything that the model will wear at the end of the event – shoes, bags, hats and more – come from artisans present on our territory. All this to indicate how, in our province, there are companies able to cover the entire fashion supply chain and how it is necessary to spread the culture of the strictly handicraft product “.

“Opening our premises we want to give a signal of impulse and attention to the chain that characterizes the craft production – explains Patrizia Ricci of the Atelier – Organize an event in synergy with the City of Lucca and Confartigianato means collaborating to give new life local crafts that is present in our city with qualified producers. We invite all citizens to participate for an experience of great interest that allows you to realize personally the great work that leads to the packaging of handmade products. I also emphasize – concludes Ricci – the importance of the presence of the school ‘M.Civitali’ that moves in the direction of a continuity between school and work that allows you to apply what is learned on school desks “.
